Nottingham Forest are looking forward to the new Premier League season with Morgan Gibbs-White part of the squad.

Gibbs-White signed a new contract with Forest at the weekend, ending weeks of speculation linking him with a move to Tottenham.

Evangelos Marinakis was not best pleased with Daniel Levy for his antics in trying to prise Gibbs-White away from Forest during the summer window.

Marinakis praised Gibbs-White shortly after Saturday’s 3-1 defeat to Fulham in Portugal and now the season looks set to start with Forest only really losing Anthony Elanga in terms of star players.

Thomas Tuchel’s staff have one concern over Morgan Gibbs-White

It would have been hard to deny Gibbs-White a move this summer with the World Cup set to take place next summer.

Gibbs-White has found it hard to impress Tuchel since he stepped into the role, and a move might have helped him guarantee himself a place at next summer’s tournament.

According to the Daily Mail, there has been a weakness spotted in Gibbs-White’s game by the spies sent to games by Tuchel.

It’s been claimed that Gibbs-White gets too frustrated when things don’t go his way and although they admire his willingness to take risks in possession, they feel that tracking back could be harder for him to do in the baking heat of the United States next summer.

Gibbs-White will give everything for World Cup place

The talented playmaker will be giving everything to make sure that he’s on the plane for next summer’s tournament.

One good thing about remaining at Forest is that he will be the main man, which means he will be playing regular football every single week.

Gibbs-White still has imperfections, but in playing under Nuno Espirito Santo, he could kick on even further this season and make himself undroppable in the eyes of Tuchel.

Forest fans are delighted that Gibbs-White is staying at the club and the hope will be that he can lead the club to some kind of success before jetting off to bid for World Cup glory with England.
