Nottingham Forest can look forward to the new season with Morgan Gibbs-White part of the squad.
Gibbs-White signed a new contract over the weekend to end speculation linking him with a move to Tottenham.
Evangelos Marinakis was less than impressed with Daniel Levy for how he conducted himself throughout the ordeal, and the pair won’t exchange Christmas cards this year.
Marinakis praised Gibbs-White after persuading him to sign a new three-year contract and it’s a huge positive for Forest ahead of the new season.
Nuno Espirito Santo will naturally be delighted, and he can relax a little bit with the first game against Brentford just over two weeks away.

Nottingham Forest consider Morgan Gibbs-White decision
It’s great that Forest are keeping their talismanic number 10 and it will be a seriously impressive reception that he gets ahead of the first game a fortnight on Sunday.
Now, the Daily Mail have made a claim about the player that could potentially rustle some feathers in the dressing room among the players.
They’ve suggested that Gibbs-White could now be offered the captaincy on a permanent basis – ahead of the devoted Ryan Yates.
Gibbs-White is the highest-paid player in Forest’s history and now the club could go another step further towards showing him just how integral he is.
Yates important to huge Forest decision
As much as he’s not a regular starter, Forest can’t go rocking the boat when it comes to the vibes in the dressing room.
The captaincy is something that Yates cherishes and stripping him completely would be seriously detrimental to his own confidence.
There is a solution that could work, however.
At lots of clubs, the Club Captain isn’t necessarily the man who wears the armband out on the pitch and perhaps that’s the situation that could arise here.
Perhaps Espirito Santo can view Gibbs-White as the on-field captain and let Yates keep his responsibilities before and during games in the dressing room.
It’s going to be a tough call one way or another and it will now be fascinating to see what happens with the captaincy.
