What’s already being said about Igor Jesus in Nottingham Forest training

Igor Jesus swapped the glitz and glamour of Botafogo for Premier League football when he signed for Nottingham Forest this summer.

Jesus starred at the Club World Cup, and that led to his move to Forest being held off until the end of the competition, which took place in the United States.

Jesus cost Forest around £10 million in the end, and that represents decent value for a player who has led the line for Brazil previously.

The forward will have it all to prove in the Premier League, however, and the pre-season campaign looks very important for the new Forest signing.

What has been spotted about Igor Jesus in training

Anthony Elanga has left for Newcastle this summer and as a result, it’s important that new signings in the final third make an immediate impact.

Dan Ndoye has checked in at Forest and he will share some of the burden with the other forwards, but it seems as though Jesus has hit the ground running.

Paul Taylor was invited in his role for The Athletic to spend some time watching the club’s pre-season training camp in Portugal.

He claimed that Jesus was red hot in the shooting drills, showing a ruthless streak when it came to sticking chances away.

That can only bode well for Forest as they look to ensure the burden of goalscoring doesn’t solely rely on the shoulders of Chris Wood again.

Jesus will have to work hard to get in the Forest team

Jesus will be capable of coming in and providing an upgrade on the players who played in the forward positions last season.

However, he might have to work hard to get himself into the team.

Jesus can play anywhere across the final third and it’s quite exciting to hear that he’s been doing the business in training.

His finishing clearly seems to be one of his main strengths and with European football on the cards, Jesus should be capable of earning plenty of opportunities this season.
