Nottingham Forest fans are really excited about the latest transfer target linked with a move to the City Ground.
Nottingham Forest are making exciting additions this summer transfer window, with Dan Ndoye the latest to join Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad.
Forest are also trying to sign James McAtee from Manchester City, although, there is a gap in valuations at the moment.
Adama Traore has been linked to the City Ground, too, with Nuno keen on reuniting with the former Wolves winger.
There is another transfer development emerging, and fans are really excited about it.

Nottingham Forest fans so excited by links to Mateus Fernandes
Nottingham Forest are exploring a deal to sign Mateus Fernandes from Southampton and it’s fair to say, supporters are well on board with that potential transfer.
“Bring me Fernandes right now,” @YouuuuuuuReds posted.
“This is the one we should push over Luiz, would have better long term resale value. Would fit in with current crop. Luiz good option though – why not both,” @Rich_NFFC asked.
@danscapephoto commented: “Now we are talking!”
@GrantFellows2 said: “I like this one, good age and already looks able to handle the league.”
“Fernandes would be a class signing. Great engine and young with room to get even better plus better resale price. Of course Luiz has the quality but £40m seems steep to me and was clearly pretty poor and injury prone at Juventus,” @leonffc1704 explained.
@CarnorJax87 added: “Fernandes over McAtee if the price is right for me. That would give us better cover for Anderson and both can be pushed to cover MGW if needed.”
“Fernandes… YES PLEASE,” @CeeJay6565 said.
Fernandes can ‘play where he wants’
Former Southampton and current Rangers manager Russell Martin thought Fernandes was that good, he could ‘play where he wants’.
“He’s a top, top player. We have two players in Mateus and Tyler Dibling, and a few others, who have the potential to play wherever they want,” Martin explained back in September 2024.
“Matty signed here over a lot of other people because he understands – and to be fair, he has a good family and agent who understand he needs to play in a certain way.
“He needs to play in a team that really suits him. It’s amazing business for the club to get him. I think we have some exceptional young talent here.”
Clearly, if Forest manage to sign the Portugal under-21 international, it’d be a really exciting addition to Espirito Santo’s squad.
Fernandes still has so much time to develop and get even better.
