Nottingham Forest fans all have the same comeback after reading Crystal Palace’s statement

Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace have been in dispute all summer over who should be in the UEFA Europa League.

Crystal Palace lost their CAS appeal and therefore, Nottingham Forest have retained their spot in Europe’s second-tier competition.

Evangelos Marinakis is now planning to invest substantially in the squad, with the Greek businessman ready to sanction a number of statement additions.

Meanwhile, Palace are less than happy with the decision, and the club have now released a pretty forceful statement.

Here’s how Forest fans have reacted to the statement.

Nottingham Forest fans take aim at Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish

Forest supporters have taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, to react to Crystal Palace’s statement and many of them are taking aim at Steve Parish and his chiefs for the lack of accountability.

“Wow we’ve released some honking statements in our time but this is an all-timer! “Certain clubs, organisations and individuals have a unique privilege and power.” No accountability from the real person to blame at all,” @OliverSmith92 said.

“It really surprises me that the CPFC fan base continuously blame Forest, and class us as a club of power that pulls strings with UEFA officials. Don’t be blinded by your club’s statement. You messed up, it’s your fault. Simple. Don’t go blaming others for your mistakes,” @JaidenNffc commented.

@DaveHo1mes explained: “An incredibly disappointing statement from Palace, and I knew it was only a matter of time for the “fair” hearing angle to be put front and centre, their spokesman at Sky Sports Kaveh Solhekol has been pushing it hard on their behalf. There’s still no acknowledgment of any mistakes on their part, and a continuation of the unfounded conspiracy laden nonsense that unsurprisingly didn’t carry any weight in an arbitration hearing. Stop blaming others and take some responsibility for the running of your football club and business.”

“Nice to see them taking a form of accountability,” @CityGroundShelf added.

Time to move on for Nottingham Forest

As far as Nottingham Forest are concerned, this whole ordeal is over and they will be playing in the Europa League this season.

That brings a new set of challenges as they’ll be facing much tougher opposition, so they must recruit accordingly.

James McAtee is close to joining Forest and there have been talks of Juventus midfielder Douglas Luiz making a switch to the City Ground, too.

Nuno is also eyeing Ipswich Town winger Omari Hutchinson and has already had a £35m bid rejected by Ipswich Town.

The Championship promotion hopefuls want around £40m to sanction his sale.
