Nottingham Forest are bidding to finalise their squad ahead of the transfer window, which slams shut on Monday evening.

Forest signed Douglas Luiz last week to make it eight signings for the summer, and the club aren’t yet finished in the market.

Nuno Espirito Santo wants three more players for his Forest squad, but knowing Evangelos Marinakis, there could be a surprise addition or two before the deadline.

In order for the squad to be completed, there could be some outgoing activity, with Ibrahim Sangare linked with West Ham in recent days.

A number of players will be deemed surplus to requirements on the back of the recent activity and Jota Silva looks set to join Sporting CP before the deadline.

Centre-back looks like an area where Forest now find themselves well stocked, and as a result, one could be about to depart the City Ground.

Bologna eye move for Morato

According to Fabrizio Romano, Bologna are making enquiries into the signing of Morato from Forest with the player down the pecking order.

Morato has been behind Nikola Milenkovic and Murillo since signing for Forest for £10 million from Benfica in the summer of 2024.

Last season, he started just six games in the Premier League, although Morato did have a remarkable clean sheet record when it came to coming on as a substitute.

Now, Bologna are set to offload Jhon Lucumi to Sunderland and the club have identified Morato as a possible replacement for the Premier League-bound star.

Forest should look to move Morato on this summer

Morato was slammed by Alan Shearer after an error against Aston Villa when the Brazilian inexplicably adjusted his shinpad with the game live, allowing Morgan Rogers to score.

He didn’t always cover himself in glory when it came to starting games for Forest but he did prove a very capable pair of hands from the bench.

Still, if Forest can recoup what they paid for Morato or even rake in a little bit of profit, it would be ideal from a PSR point of view to let him go.

Forest added Jair Cunha from Botafogo this summer and with Willy Boly and Zach Abbott still at the football club, the Reds could cope with Morato flying off to Bologna this summer.
