Nottingham Forest’s stars are currently away on international duty, with Dan Ndoye producing a performance for Switzerland that’ll have Nuno Espírito Santo thinking.

Ndoye signed for Forest for £34m from Bologna at the end of July in what was a club-record deal at the time, before being narrowly surpassed by Omari Hutchinson’s £37m move to Forest.

The Swiss star made a flying start to life at the City Ground with a goal against Brentford on the opening day, with Espírito Santo praising Ndoye for his impact on the Forest attack.

A tremendous assist against Brentford followed as Ndoye looks to have settled in at Forest, but his recent showing for Switzerland showed a glimpse of a potentially even better version of the winger.

Nottingham Forest fans rave about Dan Ndoye for Switzerland

Ndoye and Switzerland travelled to face Kosovo in a World Cup qualifier on Friday, looking to kickstart their bid to play at USA 2026 in a positive way.

That they did with a 4-0 away win, with Forest fans taking to social media to pick out a specific aspect of Ndoye’s performance that saw him pick up two assists.

One fan said: “Should honestly be Ndoye on left and Bakwa on right,” with another adding: “Sorry Hudson-Odoi but I think Ndoye deserves that left wing for now.”

Another fan said: “It’s clear Ndoye is better on the left as witnessed in the turnaround at Palace,” while one more added: “He proved for us he’s better on the left over the 3 games.”

Another Forest fan said: “CHO just doesn’t give you the goal threat on the left-hand side that Ndoye does,” while one continued: “With the coming of Bakwa, I think Ndoye finally moves to the left.”

Friday’s performance against Kosovo makes it hard to argue that Ndoye wouldn’t offer more from the left, especially with the talent that Nuno has at his disposal on the right side.

Dan Ndoye on the left opens up options for Nottingham Forest

Callum Hudson-Odoi hailed Ndoye for his assist against Palace, but the pair may soon be competing for the same spot in Espírito Santo’s line-up, especially given the depth on the right.

Counting James McAtee given he’s featured from the right so far for the Reds, there’s nearly £100m of talent available to Espírito Santo on the right side should Ndoye be utilised on the left.

Bakwa could shine on the right while Hutchinson’s potential could see him step into the role, too, meaning that there’s simply no reason not to try Ndoye on his favoured left-wing upon his return from Switzerland duty.
