Ange Postecoglou can’t drop £30m Nottingham Forest player ever again after Sunderland disaster

Nottingham Forest were beaten 1-0 by Sunderland at the City Ground on Saturday evening as Ange Postecoglou bizarrely shuffled his pack.

Without a win from his four games in charge, Postecoglou decided to make a host of changes from a brilliant performance against Real Betis and essentially killed the momentum.

Sunderland goalkeeper Robin Roefs said he didn’t feel like he’d concede against Forest, and the Reds are without a win and without a clean sheet under the stewardship of Postecoglou.

It’s now one win in 16 games for Postecoglou when it comes to the Premier League, and right now, the Reds are staring at a return to the Championship.

Nottingham Forest player Ibrahim Sangare highlights his importance

Yesterday, Sangare was handed a rest by Postecoglou, and despite not getting any minutes on the pitch, he showcased just how important he is.

The constant divide among the fan base over Sangare is a little nauseating at times, but after not getting on the pitch yesterday, it feels like fans have now truly seen what he can bring.

Sangare played a weird game on Wednesday against Real Betis. Although he did some very good stuff, there were also some errors in his game, and he was correctly taken off near the end.

However, yesterday’s game against Sunderland looked tailor-made for him, but Postecoglou instead chose to make a number of unnecessary changes to the team.

Sangare watched on as Forest lost 1-0 to the newly-promoted team and the Ivorian must now come back into the team for Thursday’s game against Midtjylland.

Sangare has to become a mainstay in Douglas Luiz’s absence

Sangare was praised by Stan Collymore for his efforts in midweek, and ultimately, he was sorely missed yesterday.

The 27-year-old feels very important when it comes to allowing the shackles to come off for Elliot Anderson, and he was stifled somewhat yesterday.

Postecoglou is striving for a winning formula, but making so many changes and leaving so many key players out yesterday felt like a really haphazard approach.

Sangare should come back in on Thursday night, and if Postecoglou doesn’t start playing with a settled side sooner rather than later, his job prospects on Trentside look extremely bleak.
