Antonio Conte is one of the best managers in world football, and he’s keen to sign a Nottingham Forest player this month.

Napoli are six points behind Inter in the quest to try and retain their Serie A title, and as a result, Conte is looking for some reinforcements before the transfer window closes.

Forest are keen to sign Lorenzo Lucca from Napoli this month, with the Reds looking to bolster the attacking options available to Sean Dyche ahead of the second half of the campaign.

Clearly, the City Ground scouts are keen on Napoli as a club, with Mathias Olivera also linked with Forest this month – and Conte might just have a proposal up his sleeve for Evangelos Marinakis.

Napoli want to include Dan Ndoye in the deal for Mathias Olivera

According to the Napoli Journal, Conte would like to include Ndoye in a deal for Olivera with Forest keen to advance with a move to sign the left-back this month.

Napoli were linked with Ndoye in the summer, but in the end, it was Forest who managed to get a deal over the line to sign the player for £30 million.

It’s believed that Napoli want around £25 million for Olivera, and now, Conte is going to devise a plan that involves the two players swapping clubs and some cash changing hands.

Letting a winger go would be risky from Forest’s point of view, but it’s fair to say that Ndoye hasn’t quite got going at Forest just yet, with his form seemingly sporadic.

Forest should keep Ndoye

The Reds must be extremely careful when it comes to letting any of their wingers leave the football club this month, with attacking options in short supply.

Olivera would be a good signing given that he’s got a pedigree of playing in top European leagues, and he would be a shrewd backup for Neco Williams at Forest.

However, it’s a swap deal that Forest should take with a pinch of salt, and the last thing the club needs to do is swap an attacking option for another defender that won’t even be a regular starter.

Ndoye has time on his side to come good and the hope will be that Forest persist with him at least until the end of the season and ignore the advances from Napoli and Conte.
