Nottingham Forest are looking to finalise their squad in the last week of the January transfer window.
Forest added Lorenzo Lucca to the squad last weekend, although he wasn’t registered in time to make his debut in the 2-0 win over Brentford at the weekend.
Forest have been linked with Jean-Philippe Mateta this window, and it would appear as though striker signings are the order of the day before the window shuts.
However, other positions are also being considered, with Forest now making a shock move to sign a Premier League goalkeeper before the window closes.

Nottingham Forest make contact with Wolves for Jose Sa
According to the Express and Star, Forest have contacted Wolves over signing Sa before the window closes next week.
Sa has been linked with Forest previously, and Evangelos Marinakis has taken him to a club before following his spell with Olympiacos.
The 33-year-old made 124 appearances for the Greek giants before moving to Wolves, and Marinakis has been keen to bring him to Forest previously.
This season, Sa has made 12 appearances in all competitions, captaining Wolves in the last four Premier League games, which have seen the team claim five points.
Now, Forest are keen to bolster their ranks with the addition of Sa as they look for a replacement for John Victor, who has needed surgery on a knee injury sustained against Aston Villa.
Sa could be ideal on a short-term contract
Given that Sa is the captain and a regular in the team at Wolves, he might be reluctant to swap that for a move to the City Ground at the moment.
Would you take Jose Sa at Nottingham Forest?
However, Forest do have a greater chance of success in terms of staying up this season than Wolves and perhaps that might entice him to Trentside.
Robert Green played for England during his career and he called Sa ‘excellent’ for his performances when he first came to Molineux in 2021.
With Matz Sels as the current number one at Forest, it’s very unlikely that Sa would play much, but it would at least give the Reds a safe pair of hands on the bench should anything happen to the Belgian.
