Nottingham Forest will go in search of a number of players this summer, with others set to go the other way and leave the club.

Elliot Anderson is set for Manchester City in the highest-profile departure from the City Ground this summer, and Evangelos Marinakis will largely want to keep the group together.

However, if new players are to arrive, some others might have to depart as the Reds look to readdress the balance of the squad now that European football won’t be on the horizon for next season.

Who is your ‘hear me out’ signing for Nottingham Forest to make this summer?! 👀🤔

Nicolo Savona considering Atalanta move

According to Alfredo Pedulla, Atalanta are set to make a move to sign Savona this summer, with the Forest defender considering leaving the Reds.

Savona is getting vast interest this summer from a number of Serie A clubs, and a return to his homeland does feel like a viable option.

Savona only cost Forest £11 million, and if he does leave, the club should be able to, at the very least, recoup what they paid for the defender.

It’s thought that Savona would be open to leaving the City Ground after just 12 months, and it remains to be seen when Atalanta will come forward with their first offer.

Savona started in decent fashion at Forest, making 14 appearances in the Premier League and scoring important goals against Liverpool and Manchester United.

With Atalanta preparing a move for Nicolo Savona, how would you rate his time at Nottingham Forest?

Forest must replace Savona

At 23, Savona has potential and he never looked out of place when he was asked to play in the absence of Ola Aina at right-back.

However, it’s easy to see why Forest would consider offloading the defender, with a significant drop-off from Aina in terms of how they both operate at right-back.

Savona lacks the pace of Aina and he doesn’t get up and down the pitch quite like the Nigerian, with Forest likely to seek a different type of full-back if the Italian leaves.
