Nottingham Forest are in the market for a central midfielder this summer transfer window.
With Elliot Anderson on the verge of joining Manchester City for a reported £116m, the process of signing his replacement is well underway.
Nottingham Forest have looked at Davide Fratessi at Inter Milan, and Southampton’s Shea Charles has also been linked to the City Ground.
💰Who is YOUR dream signing to replace Elliot Anderson this summer?
The midfielder is set for a £116m move to Manchester City
But it seems as though they’ve now focused their attention on a very promising young midfielder who’s currently at the World Cup in America.

Nottingham Forest appear to have bid £44m for Lucas Bergvall
Last week, it was reported that Nottingham Forest are considering a move to sign Lucas Bergvall from Tottenham Hotspur.
Bergvall wants to leave the North Londoners to embark on a new challenge elsewhere, so Forest put their hat in the ring immediately.
That said, it seems as though the Tricky Trees may have already launched a formal bid for the 20-year-old.
According to Sky Sports journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, via Calcio Napoli, Tottenham recently rejected a £43m offer from an English club.
Di Marzio didn’t have confirmation on who submitted the offer, but he believes it came from Evangelos Marinakis.

Indeed, if it was the East Midlanders, they’ll have to return with an improved bid and shatter their transfer record, which currently stands at £37m for Omari Hutchinson.
Serie A giants Napoli are also in the race, but the finances attached to the deal will likely rule them out, so Forest could have a clear run at it.
Forest fans believe Bergvall would be the ideal replacement for Anderson, although he is a slightly different profile of midfielder.
The Spurs star is a superb ball carrier and has immense poise in possession, but the defensive side of his game could do with some improvement.
