This summer transfer window is in full swing, and business is expected to ramp up this month for Nottingham Forest.
Now that Oliver Glasner is in post, Nottingham Forest’s recruitment chiefs can press ahead with a number of deals.
Bologna centre-back Jhon Lucumi has been heavily linked to the City Ground in recent weeks, and so too has Tottenham Hotspur’s Lucas Bergvall.
Name one Crystal Palace star you’d love to see join Glasner at Forest 👀
Whilst the Tricky Trees draw up a list of big-name targets, they are also looking to recruit some emerging young talent, which suggests a new recruitment policy.

Nottingham Forest’s interest in McCarthy and Derry suggests new transfer policy
According to Portuguese outlet Record, Nottingham Forest were showing an interest in Chelsea winger Jesse Derry before he entered advanced talks to join Sporting on loan.
Derry, who celebrated his 19th birthday last month, has only made three senior appearances for Chelsea but is considered one of the best talents at Cobham.
As well as Derry, Forest are also keen on Hull City teenager Cathal McCarthy and have already made a bid to sign him.
Hull have rejected their opening bid, but the East Midlanders are expected to return to the table with an improved offer for the Ireland under-21 international.
It’s pretty clear that Forest are focusing their efforts on recruiting stars for the future this summer, and it’s a smart strategy from Marinakis’ chiefs.

In this PSR and SCR climate, there is a pressing need to invest for the future and ensure the club have assets who could develop into high-value players in a few years.
They had success with this strategy in 2024 when they signed Elliot Anderson from Newcastle United, who was still a relative unknown at that point.
Anderson is now joining Manchester City in a £116m deal, so Forest are clearly eager to replicate that kind of success.
