Nottingham Forest are thought to be in the final stages of negotiations over a deal for Nino. The defender is set to leave Fluminense after he helped them win the Copa Libertadores earlier this month.
The 26-year-old has a number of clubs chasing his signature. However, only Forest have come forward from the Premier League and it’s claimed that they’re the closest to wrapping up a deal.
Nino has played over 50 times for Fluminense this season, proving an instrumental player in the team. At the weekend, Nino was sent off after a spat with Gabriel Barbosa during a derby-day clash.
Forest closest club to signing of Nino
It’s been reported for some time that Forest are keen to tie up a deal to sign Nino. It’s rumoured that he’s going to cost around £6 million and most recently the defender was called up to the Brazil squad.

Now, according to Esporte, Forest are in the final stages of tying up a deal for Nino ahead of other clubs. Besiktas are very keen to take him, whilst Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Shabab have also expressed interest.
Forest could be in the market for another central defender. Although they look well-stocked right now, in the last few days Scott McKenna has been linked with Fenerbahce, whilst Felipe has been linked with Olympiacos.
Forest must get this deal over the line
It’s been claimed for some time that Forest want to sign another defender. Murillo has made an impact since his £11 million transfer from Corinthians and clearly, the South American market is unearthing some gems.
At £6 million, Nino could be a steal for Forest. He is a defender who isn’t at the peak of his powers yet and if he did well on Trentside the club could make significant profit on him.
The player has a little aggressive streak to his game. That is perhaps something which Forest lack in their defensive unit and Nino could prove to be a very shrewd addition.
