Nottingham Forest have just one week now to tie up their loose ends in this summer’s transfer window.
To say it has been a productive summer for Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side would be an understatement with Forest having now made eight additions.
Forest secured the signing of Alex Moreno from Aston Villa on a season-long loan on Wednesday evening.
The Reds were able to put a point on the board over the weekend in their season opener against Bournemouth.
None of their summer signings even started in the game against the Cherries with Nikola Milenkovic absent through a very specific reason.
But it seems as if there could still be time for more at the City Ground over the coming days as Evangelos Marinakis and Ross Wilson get to work.

Nottingham Forest eyeing ‘superstar’ despite agreeing Eddie Nketiah terms
Despite Chris Wood finding the back of the net on the weekend, a new striker remains a real focal point for Forest in the final week of the window.
Forest have been able to agree personal terms with Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah but that may not stop them from looking at other options.
Fabrizio Romano has now provided an update on the search at the City Ground for a new striker with the clock ticking down on Nuno’s side in the market.
According to Romano, Forest remain on the trail of the Feyenoord striker Santiago Gimenez despite the links to Nketiah.
“With Nketiah, we know Nottingham Forest are interested. However, Forest have also shown an interest in Santiago Gimenez – their bid has been rejected by Feyenoord, €26m plus add-ons was still not enough,” Romano said in his Daily Briefing.
“Forest have advanced in talks with Arsenal and also with Nketiah as he’s accepted the proposal on contract. Forest remain attentive to Gimenez situation but as of last night, Nketiah is the favourite striker option for them.”
Nottingham Forest closing in on a new striker
With just a week remaining, Forest have been left with an interesting decision to make as to which striker they’d really like to pursue.
In Nketiah, the Reds would be signing a player who does have some Premier League experience but has not been able to play regular football of late.
And in Gimenez, they would be getting the opposite in a ‘superstar‘ who has not Premier League experience but has been in good form for Feyenoord over in the Eredivisie.
| 2023/24 | Santiago Gimenez | Eddie Nketiah |
| Appearances (starts) | 41 (39) | 37 (13) |
| Goals | 26 | 6 |
| Assists | 8 | 3 |
An intriguing decision awaits Nuno’s side but they must be mindful of not being caught out by the clock which is quickly ticking down.
