Nottingham Forest are trying to finalise their squad ahead of the transfer deadline with a number of positions still being looked at by the Reds.
A striker is definitely on the radar and things are growing a little bit desperate in that sense at the moment.
Santiago Gimenez stunned Forest yesterday by deciding against a move to the Premier League.
Eddie Nketiah was another target for Forest but he’s keen to stay in London and he’s now set to sign for Crystal Palace.
It would appear that it’s not just a striker that is wanted by Forest before Friday’s deadline and another midfielder might be on the cards.
James Ward-Prowse was linked with Forest this week and he’s not the only player on the club’s shortlist of targets.

Nottingham Forest want Brazilian midfielder Andre
According to reports in Brazil, the Reds have joined Wolves in the mix to sign a midfielder who has been linked with Fulham, Manchester United and Liverpool.
The Reds are monitoring the player closely and could consider an offer for the Brazilian midfield player.
Fluminense would consider offloading the player this month but it’s likely to take a pretty big bid to tempt the club into a sale.
Andre typically operates as a number six and perhaps Forest are keen to add some competition for the place currently occupied by Ibrahim Sangare.
Andre played 29 times for Fluminense during the 2023/24 campaign and he’s also been capped five times by the Brazilian national team.
Forest have to prioritise striker before Andre signing
Andre is tipped for big things but right now, Forest don’t have a requirement for another central midfielder – let alone another number six.
A former youth coach at Fluminense, Eduardo Oliveira, said last year that he was a ‘future captain’ and was impressed with the progress he was showing.
Andre is clearly a very talented player and at 25, he once again fits nicely with the profile of the type of signings that Forest have tried to make this summer.
At 23, Andre does look set to become a regular in the Brazil team and it’s clear that he will develop into a quality player.
However, Forest have cut their cloth accordingly this summer and given that a striker is still required, perhaps this won’t be the signing for Forest during the current transfer window.
