Nottingham Forest are in the market to finalise their squad with a striker ahead of the transfer deadline tonight.

The Reds have been looking a number of options for weeks, with Santiago Gimenez thought to be their number one target. However, signing him proved a bridge too far.

Eddie Nketiah was also thought to be close to a move to Forest at one point. He’s fancied a stay in London, however, and is expected to join Crystal Palace.

Earlier today on deadline day, Forest were denied in their efforts to Omar Marmoush, with the Eintracht Frankfurt choosing to stay in the Bundesliga.

Now, it’s emerged that Forest are hoping to still land another attacker before the deadline, with another player in the sights of the club.

Nottingham Forest among clubs chasing Conrad Harder

According to On the Minute, the Reds are in the mix to sign £17 million rated striker Harder from Nordsjaelland on transfer deadline day.

It’s thought that Brighton are in the box seat to complete a deal for this player, with a bid made by the Seagulls accepted.

Harder is now in the sights of Forest though and Nuno Espirito Santo is keen to see the move hijacked.

The talented 19-year-old made six league outings last season, scoring two goals and registering a couple of assists.

He broke into the first time with his current club in 2023 and has also been linked with a move to Sporting Libson earlier in his career.

Unknown quantity but Harder could be very useful

With Chris Wood in good form under Espirito Santo, signing a younger striker does feel like the way to go today.

As a teenager, Harder wouldn’t command a game every single week and he’d be happy to get minutes wherever he could in the Forest team.

Signing a talented teenager with one eye on the future would be a decent thing to do and Harder would check in with a reputation of being a wonderkid.

The Reds might be facing a losing battle to get this one done, with Brighton pushing hard to complete the signing too.

The AMEX Stadium outfit don’t get much wrong in the transfer market and if they do win the race for Harder this could be one that Forest might wish they’d have gone in for sooner.
