Evangelos Marinakis has transformed Nottingham Forest’s fortunes, and he’s just made another very smart financial decision.

Nottingham Forest can now start making adjustments to Nuno Espirito Santo‘s squad with the January transfer window now here.

There’s been no figure set on how much Forest can spend this month, but one thing that’s for certain is Evangelos Marinakis has said he will invest.

It’s more about making sure the Reds have strength in depth opposed to really focusing on making the starting XI better, as it’s clear that Nuno’s current side is more than capable.

Interestingly, it’s a financial move away from the transfer window that Evangelos Marinakis has made, and it’s a very clever one at that.

Evangelos Marinakis converts £82m of loans into 8.2 billion 1p shares

Marinakis is busy looking into buying other clubs at the moment, with Brazilian side Vasco de Gama one of them.

However, he hasn’t abandoned Forest in any way shape or form, as he recently made the move to appoint Lina Souloukou to help improve things at the City Ground.

His latest move is a financial one.

With the new APT rules coming into play in a couple of weeks, Marinakis has taken it upon himself to convert £82m of loans into 8.2 billion 1p shares, which means that there will be no interest charged on the loans.

Next up for Nottingham Forest in the Premier League

The games are coming thick and fast with Wolverhampton Wanderers up next in the Premier League, which will see Nuno and Morgan Gibbs-White return to Molineux.

We’ve already predicted the result of Wolves vs Forest, and we believe it will be 2-1 to the Reds.

It remains to be seen as to whether Murillo and Callum Hudson-Odoi will be fit to play any part in the game, but Wolves are also missing Matehus Cunha.
