Saudi Arabian clubs are interested in Chris Wood who has scored 11 goals in the league thus far, leading to Forest offering Wood a new contract.

Forest’s brilliant defence has also caught the eye, with Manchester United told to target Murillo to solve their particular Premier League woes.

Most recently though was the news that Liverpool have been scouting Elliot Anderson, making the latest reports on one of Forest’s midfield targets potentially concerning for Espirito Santo and the Forest owner.

West Ham hold talks with Nicolo Fagioli

According to Tuttosport, via Tuttomercatoweb, West Ham have entered into talks to sign Juventus midfielder Nicolo Fagioli. Forest have been linked with Fagioli in the past but the report has claimed the club have fallen behind in the race.

Alongside West Ham, the report states that fellow London sides Fulham and Crystal Palace have also had conversations with Fagioli, with the report confirming that: “The Italian outfit [Juventus] are willing to offload the 23-year-old [Fagioli] in the January transfer window, valuing him at around £17m.”

Napoli were said to be leading the race for Fagioli when Forest were initially linked with the midfielder, but the chance to move to London and play in the Premier League may lead to Fagioli reconsidering his options.

Whilst the update may be frustrating for Evangelos Marinakis, Forest are not in a position to panic about the reported interest in the Italian.

Nottingham Forest aren’t in desperate need of Nicolo Fagioli

The news of Liverpool’s potential interest in Anderson will have spooked Forest fans but whilst he remains at the City Ground, Forest don’t need to panic about signing Fagioli.

Fagioli has not contributed to a single goal for Juventus this season, whilst Anderson has provided Forest with five assists since joining in the summer.

The Italian also only creates 0.65 chances per 90 minutes in the Serie A compared to Anderson’s 2.13 chances per game in the Premier League.

Forest have identified three key positions to improve in January with central midfield not being one of them, so Marinakis shouldn’t need to react to the latest news on Fagioli.
