Nottingham Forest want to hand new deals to three players including Callum Hudson-Odoi

Nottingham Forest have become an astute organisation when it comes to the transfer market.

The Reds had an haphazard approach to signing players when the club first returned to the Premier League but lessons have been learned by the powers that be along the way.

Forest only added 11 players to the ranks in the summer of 2024. Two of those – Marko Stamenic and David Carmo – joined Olympiacos on loan for the season.

Forest were left frustrated in their attempts to sign a striker. Evangelos Marinakis desperately wanted a forward in January and perhaps that area will be targeted when the window reopens.

Instead, the month of January was spent looking after the current crop of players. Chris Wood penned a new contract, whilst Murillo tempered any speculation by also putting pen-to-paper.

Ola Aina could be the next to sign a new deal at Forest. However, it’s now believed that others are on the radar of the club when it comes to being tied down for the future.

Nottingham Forest to discuss new deals with three players

It will come as no surprise that new contracts are in the offing given how well the Reds have already done during the 2024/25 campaign.

According to The Athletic, the Reds are now hoping to agree deals with forwards Morgan Gibbs-White and Callum Hudson-Odoi as well as Neco Williams.

Gibbs-White is instrumental to Forest’s fortunes and it’s imperative that he gets tied down beyond his current deal as the Reds chase European football.

Winger, Hudson-Odoi, is another player who Forest will want to keep around the place given his pedigree of playing European football.

Forest paid a remarkable £3 million for Hudson-Odoi and he’s one of the best pieces of business that the Reds have completed since returning to the Premier League.

Finally, Neco Williams has enjoyed a good season and Forest have clearly been impressed with his efforts since he came back into the team.

He’s made the left-back spot his own and he too will be discussing terms with Forest in the coming weeks – with something hopefully being agreed before he enters the final year of his current deal.

Forest wise to get current stars tied to new contracts

With PSR still in play for another year, Forest have to keep being savvy and that means it’s imperative they reward current players with the contracts they deserve.

Williams, Gibbs-White and Hudson-Odoi are vital to the Forest team and all three appear to be good players to have in the dressing room.

If Forest do qualify for Europe next season, Nuno Espirito Santo will want a slightly bigger squad and keeping those three around is paramount for the club to really establish itself in the Premier League.

The team spirit has been remarkable on Trentside this season and Espirito Santo will be hoping that the squad can stay together and keep improving sa the years progress.
