Nottingham Forest are expected to be busy this summer transfer window.

After qualifying for the UEFA Conference League, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side needs to be bulked up ahead of a congested fixture list.

Igor Jesus is set to become Nottingham Forest’s first addition, with Botofogo teammates Cuiabano and Jair Cunha also making a switch to the City Ground.

Nottingham Forest are also exploring a deal to sign Yoane Wissa from Brentford, and some reports suggest a bid has been tabled.

Now, there’s been a fresh rumour that’s just emerged, and it shows just how ambitious Nottingham Forest’s owner Evangelos Marinakis is.

Nottingham Forest interested in signing Andrea Cambiaso

Marinakis is ready to invest heavily in Nottingham Forest’s squad this summer, in accordance with the PSR rules.

That’s already been evinced by the proposed £33m triple deal to sign Jesus, Cuiabano and Cunha, who are all expected to complete a switch.

Now, according to Italian outlet Tutto Juve, Forest are interested in signing Juventus wingback Andrea Cambiaso.

After Alex Moreno and Harry Toffolo’s departures, there is a pressing need to bring in a left-back, and the £51m-rated Italy international has been identified.

Atletico Madrid and AC Milan remain in the race to land his signature, whilst Pep Guardiola was reportedly looking at signing him in time for the Club World Cup.

The report claims that Juve have no need to sanction Cambiaso’s sale, considering he is under contract until 2029, so it certainly won’t be a cheap deal to do for the Tricky Trees, with it likely taking a club-record fee to reach an agreement.

Cambiaso stats 2024/25

Cambiaso is an extremely versatile player as he can operate as a left and right-back due to his two-footed ability.

The 25-year-old has even plied his trade as a right midfielder at times, so he’d be a brilliant asset to Forest’s squad.

Last season, Cambiaso managed to register seven goal involvements in 42 appearances, which is a commendable tally given his defensive responsibilities.

The 14-cap international contributed to nine goals in the previous campaign, so evidently he’s a very attack-minded full-back.

If Forest do manage to sign Cambiaso, it’d be a real statement of intent from Marinakis.
