Bologna star Dan Ndoye is Nottingham Forest’s top target to replace Anthony Elanga, but Napoli have been providing stern competition for his signature.
Forest bid for Ndoye after identifying the Swiss international as the ideal successor to Elanga, given his blistering pace down the right flank.
However, Serie A champions Napoli have also made bids to sign Ndoye, but neither party have reached Bologna’s asking price, on which they do not look set to budge.
It’s been reported that Napoli believe Ndoye will sign for Forest but that’s not stopped them preparing another bid themselves, albeit one that could provide the Reds with the perfect chance to secure their man.

Napoli prepare Dan Ndoye bid with clear ultimatum for Bologna
Alongside Forest and Napoli, it’s been said that Manchester United are also interested in Ndoye, but are said to be behind in the race.
Attempting to end the race entirely, Napoli are set to submit another bid for the 24-year-old, but according to Football Italia, it will be with an ultimatum for Bologna.
The report said: “Napoli will present another offer but they have no intention of putting €45 million (including bonuses) on the table, plus a percentage of future resale.”
As it stands, Forest’s highest bid for Ndoye was a fee of £35m with an extra £5m in add-ons. Bologna clearly want at least the total of Forest’s package up front, with the future fee percentage thrown in on top.
If Napoli aren’t willing to reach that asking fee, then Forest are, in theory, left in an advantageous position to advance in negotiations for Ndoye with Bologna, as long as they’re willing to better Napoli’s efforts.
Nottingham Forest must show intent in Dan Ndoye race
It’s quite simple now, if Edu and the Forest recruitment team are dead set on Ndoye being the Elanga replacement, they must better Napoli’s ultimatum bid.
Already this summer, Johan Bakayoko has evaded Forest as an option for the right side, with the Belgian choosing to sign for Bundesliga side RB Leipzig instead.
To lose out on another winger, therefore, would be a bad sign of the Reds’ intentions going into a landmark season, with European football secured for the first time in 30 years.
Especially given the ongoing speculation surrounding Morgan Gibbs-White’s move to Tottenham, Forest fans need to see their side showing intent in the transfer market, so letting Ndoye slip away would be particularly disappointing.
