Tim Howard is not impressed with football coaches who only want to play one way, and that includes Ange Postecoglou.
Postecoglou is known for his high-tempo style of play that leaves a high line, gives his side plenty of chances, but can often open gaps for the opposition.
The Australian is so far without a win, but former players such as Micah Richards believe there is nothing to worry about.
However, after losing 1-0 to Sunderland, former USA international Tim Howard was less than impressed with Nottingham Forest and Ange Postecoglou’s tactics.

Tim Howard ‘tired’ of stubborn Premier League coaches
Tim Howard was on punditry duty for NBC, covering Forest’s game vs Sunderland, and following the result, the former goalkeeper had quite a lot to say about some managers in the Premier League.
Speaking about Sunderland’s win, he said, “I’m so sick and tired of these coaches saying, ‘This is the way I play, and I’ll lose my job, but I’ll play this way.’ No, you have to be pragmatic. You have to dig in.
“Yes, they use the football well and yes, they play well. But did you see that [Sunderland] performance? They were willing to dig in, every single one of them. That’s how you get results, and it shows.”
Presenter Rebecca Lowe then brought up Ange Postecoglou in relation to Howard’s rant, and he responded, saying, “Struggling, yes, struggling. We talked about it at half-time.
“It’s really difficult for him to implement his style with these players, so he has to figure out a way to tilt the balance and get performances.”
Ange Postecoglou won’t change his philosophy
If one thing is clear, it is that Ange Postecoglou will not change how he wants to play.
Even with Tottenham finishing in 17th last season, the Australian persisted with his philosophy. The words of Tim Howard will likely fall on deaf ears, and the likelihood is you will not see Nottingham Forest ‘dig in’ any time soon.
Postecoglou does need to start getting results, as pressure is no doubt starting to seep in.
He is on a concerning run of Premier League form, including at Spurs and at Forest, and that will do no good for the confidence in him from Evangelos Marinakis.
