Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis is going to try desperately to bring players to the club this month.
It won’t be easy, however, with Forest languishing in 17th place in the Premier League table and fighting tooth and nail to preserve their Premier League status under Sean Dyche.
Forest want Lorenzo Lucca from Napoli, with a striker high on the shortlist for the January transfer window, although other areas are also being targeted.
The Reds are keen on defensive recruits too and Jayden Oosterwolde was linked with Forest yesterday alongside Leeds, Everton and Crystal Palace.
A new left-back to compete with Neco Williams is high on the list too and it would appear that Marinakis is dipping into his book of contacts to secure a backup for the Welsh performer.

Nottingham Forest want Kostas Tsimikas
According to La Roma 24, Forest are looking to sign Tsimikas after a frustrating time of things at Roma during the first half of the campaign.
Forest looked at signing the Greek international in the summer but opted to sign Oleksandr Zinchenko from Arsenal instead – a move which hasn’t proved successful.
Zinchenko is heading to Ajax and that has opened up a space for another Premier League loan, with Forest now considering using Tsimikas as one of them.
The Greece international has played for Marinakis before at Olympiacos, and during his time at Liverpool, he was called ‘really good’ by legendary boss Jurgen Klopp.
Tsimikas has made just 15 appearances in all competitions this season, featuring for just 600 minutes at Roma and if the chance arose to send him back to Liverpool, it’s certain they’d take it.
Tsimikas would be ideal backup for Neco Williams
Forest don’t need a big-money signing to come in and play second fiddle to Williams but it would be nice if it were someone more capable than Zinchenko in reserve.
At 29, Tsimikas isn’t completely past it just yet and there have never been any issues with his ability to play regularly in the Premier League.
Would you sign Kostas Tsimikas as a Neco Williams backup on a short-term deal?

The 47-cap star was always dependable when called upon in the Liverpool team and it seems likely that other clubs will eye him if he becomes available.
Tsimikas and Williams will know each other from their time together at Liverpool and as a result, it’s a signing that would make a lot of sense if Forest can get it over the line.
