Nottingham Forest are set to sack Vitor Pereira despite guiding the club to safety.
Nottingham Forest were much improved under Pereira as his side ended up finishing on 44 points last season, five clear of the relegation zone.
Many believed the Portuguese head coach would receive substantial backing this window ahead of his first full season at the club.
VITOR PEREIRA IS SET TO LEAVE NOTTINGHAM FOREST! WHAT ARE YOUR INSTANT THOUGHTS?
Who do we even get next!?
But, quite clearly, Evangelos Marinakis isn’t convinced that Pereira is the long-term manager for the football club, and that thought process was reflected in the contract.
The former Wolves boss only signed a deal until June 2027, so there were signs from the get-go that he was on a short lead.
With that said, it’s pretty obvious who Forest will now look to appoint as Pereira’s successor, if indeed his departure is confirmed.

Nottingham Forest will surely try to appoint Oliver Glasner
For Nottingham Forest to sack Pereira, clearly they feel they can bring in a notable upgrade as his replacement.
That man could very well be Oliver Glasner, who remains out of work after leaving Crystal Palace at the end of the season.
Glasner, who won the Conference League with the Eagles, publicly stated that he didn’t feel backed earlier this year and thus made the decision to explore a new challenge elsewhere.
Interestingly, Glasner was interviewed by Forest back in December 2023, but Marinakis wasn’t convinced and opted for Nuno Espirito Santo instead.
The Austrian’s stock has risen dramatically since then, and the Forest owner will no doubt have changed his view over the last two and a half years.
The Forest squad is tailor-made for Glasner’s style, as his core principles revolve around two number 10s and aggressive wing-backs.
💰Who is YOUR dream signing to replace Elliot Anderson this summer?
The midfielder is set for a £116m move to Manchester City
Morgan Gibbs-White is one of the best attacking midfielders in the Premier League, and James McAtee could be a good fit for the other role.
Omari Hutchinson, the club’s record signing, could also move into a more central position.
At wing-back, Forest are strong with Neco Williams, who is set to sign a new deal after entering advanced talks with the club.
Although, they’d probably need to recruit on the opposite flank, and they are showing an interest in Fenerbahce’s full-back Archie Brown.
Forest had a bid rejected for Brown last month.
