Nottingham Forest had a number of issues to worry about during the international break, and one of them has now been solved on the injury front ahead of Crystal Palace.

Nuno Espirito Santo will be watching from the stands for the next three games after being handed a suspension for his behaviour against Brighton.

The sending off of Morgan Gibbs-White during Nottingham Forest vs Brighton has led to a whole host of problems for the FA and the club.

Evangelos Marinakis and Gibbs-White have both been given suspensions, with the Forest owner slapped with a five-game one and the latter just the one game.

To think that all of this was caused by a decision from Rob Jones that ended up being regarded as wrong by an independent panel is crazy.

However, in better news, Nuno has been handed a massive boost ahead of Crystal Palace.

Nottingham Forest receive massive injury boost

Morgan Gibbs-White wasn’t going to be fit to feature against Crystal Palace due to injury, and now it’s known that he wouldn’t have been able to feature anyway.

That isn’t the only injury the Reds had to worry about during the international break, as Matz Sels withdrew from the Belgium squad due to an adductor issue.

However, there has been an update on the goalkeeper ahead of Crystal Palace and it’s a good one.

According to Paul Taylor, Nuno Espirito Santo has stated that Matz Sels is fit and ready to face Crystal Palace on Monday.

Matz Sels’ standout performance against Chelsea

Matz Sels put in arguably one of his best performances in a Nottingham Forest shirt prior to the international break, as he made a number of key saves against Chelsea.

Ally McCoist was left stunned at how good Sels was against Chelsea.

And Jeff Stelling even admitted that he thought Sels was the worst goalkeeper in the Premier League before his impressive performance last time out.

Carlos Miguel is relatively inexperienced and hasn’t tasted much top-level football, so Nuno Espirito Santo won’t have to throw him into the deep end just yet.
