The summer transfer window is an incredibly important one for Nottingham Forest this season, looking to add to a squad that secured European football for the 25/26 campaign.
Given the ambition of Evangelos Marinakis, the summer transfer window was always set to be a busy one at the City Ground, with quality and depth required to take on UEFA competition.
Of course, Nuno Espírito Santo will be playing his role in the recruitment drive, but the Reds boss will have a new man to report to after Edu Gaspar arrived at Forest as the new Global Head of Football.
With that in mind, here’s a look at the confirmed incomings and exits during the 2025 summer transfer window.

The summer kicked off with a double swoop from Brazil as Igor Jesus signed for Forest from Botafogo, swiftly followed by centre-back Jair Cunha from the same club.
In a statement of intent, Forest signed right-winger Dan Ndoye from Bologna, beating Napoli to his signature, while Scottish international Angus Gunn arrived as a free agent to provide cover for Matz Sels.
The spending truly ramped up with three signings announced on the weekend of the opening Premier League fixture against Brentford. Firstly, Forest signed Omari Hutchinson in a club-record £37m deal, followed up by fellow England youth star James McAtee.
Arnaud Kalimuendo joined Forest shortly after the two English stars, while Italian right-back Nicolo Savona has also arrived to add cover for Ola Aina.
Confirmed loan transfers at Nottingham Forest in summer 2025

In what was a statement acquisition, Forest signed Douglas Luiz from Juventus on an initial loan for the 25/26 campaign.
The deal could be made permanent if the Brazilian meets certain requirements while on loan at the City Ground.
Nottingham Forest players whose contracts ended in summer 2025

- Wayne Hennessey
Left-back Harry Toffolo’s contract expired at the end of the 24/25 season, with Forest losing a player who was just as important off the pitch as he was on it. Toffolo has since signed for Charlotte FC in the MLS.
It was another emotional departure for Wayne Hennessey, who announced his retirement at the end of the season, but the goalkeeper has remained involved at Forest as a first-team coach.

In a significant deal, Anthony Elanga left for Newcastle United after intense negotiations, leaving a gap in the Forest attack that Ndoye has since filled.
Elsewhere, fringe option Danilo moved to Botafogo, while Ramon Sosa departed for Palmeiras after just a season on Trentside.
Andrew Omobamidele and Jonathan Panzo both made their previous loan moves permanent, while Lewis O’Brien signed for Wrexham in a quest for more first-team minutes.
In one of the more bizarre moves of the summer window, Forest sold Matt Turner to Lyon, who immediately loaned the American shot-stopper back to the MLS.

Remarkably, Jamie McDonnell, Joe Gardner and Kyle McAdam have all been sent out on loan to League One side Mansfield Town, who are managed by Forest legend Nigel Clough.
Full-back Josh Powell has also been given a chance to experience more first-team football, joining Colchester United for the season.
